The rates in Ayacucho, Peru, are alarming; out of every 100 adolescents between 12 and 17 years of age, 10 are pregnant or already mothers. The national average is 8.9% (Endes 2021).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Teenage pregnancy is a problem that affects thousands of students, truncating their life plans and projects.<\/p>\r\n

Adolescents are forced to assume the role of parents at their young age, both in caring for the baby and in supporting the household financially, both of which have the direct consequence of dropping out of school.<\/p>\r\n

One of the solutions to this problem is preventive work in the school, with the participation of the teachers of the TUTORIA course and the adolescent leaders.<\/p>\r\n

We strengthen the capacities of teachers in Ayacucho's schools in the management of methodological tools, so that they can develop sessions in the tutoring course hours, in a creative and playful way, focusing on two topics: comprehensive sexual education and life skills.<\/span><\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

Another actor that joins in the purpose of preventing pregnancies at an early age are the student leaders.
