In Peru, violence against adolescent girls is steadily increasing. In Ayacucho, Peru, victims do not receive comprehensive, timely and specialized care.<\/p>\n

For this reason, 11 years ago, we opened the \"DIA\" Shelter Center where we take care of adolescents referred by the Special Protection Unit - UPE or by the court. We currently have a capacity for 18 adolescents.<\/p>\n

At the \"DIA\" Shelter Center, while working on the adolescent's recovery, in parallel we work with the family or the family support network to achieve a safe context where the adolescent can return.<\/p>\n

After an average of 02 years, after achieving emotional recovery and a safe environment, 50% of the adolescent girls return to their family environment, and the other 50% of the girls prepare for an independent life due to the lack of a safe context.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

There are already 305 teenage girls from Ayacucho who were sheltered in the \"DIA\" Shelter Center. Most of them managed to recover and continue with their life projects, thanks to the specialized attention and tender treatment provided to them.<\/p>\n

We are happy because they, who at their young age were the protagonists of sad episodes, are now opening their wings and taking flight.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

At the Shelter Center we work with a multidisciplinary team of health, education, social work and psychology professionals to intervene in a comprehensive manner to stabilize the crisis situation in adolescent victims, so that they can resume their daily activities, for example, attending school.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
